DL E&C announced on the 17th that it has secured the contract for the “Construction of the Korean Reinsurance’s New Office Building” to be built in the area of 80 Susong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. The construction cost is KRW398.2 billion.
The construction project for the new headquarters of Korean Reinsurance, a global reinsurer, is being pursued with the goal of revitalizing the region, enhancing the work environment and expanding urban green spaces and cultural areas.
The new office building will be constructed on a site area of 7,260 square meters with a total floor area of 112,600 square meters, spanning from 8 basement levels to 21 floors above ground. Construction is scheduled to begin in May and be completed as a prime office building in July 2030. Notably, the building will feature a 510-seat concert hall and over 2,600 square meters of open green space. Through this, it is expected to serve not only as an urban landmark but also as a complex facility for culture and greenery.
DL E&C has previously successfully constructed prime office buildings within Seoul’s Central Business District (CBD), including the ‘Gwanghwamun D-Tower’ and ‘Namdaemun Grand Central’. Through this project, the Company aims to create a new urban landmark that encompasses culture and relaxation, going beyond a mere workspace.
A DL E&C official said, “The construction of Korean Reinsurance’s new office building is an opportunity to showcase the culmination of DL E&C’s high-end architectural technology and high-quality construction capabilities,” adding, “We will do our utmost to ensure it is completed as a landmark prime office within the CBD.”
